Hello there! (Reddit name: MaxSGB) Here is the project I’ve been working on ^.^ Specs: 6 digit addition and subtraction, 3 digit multiplication, division and trigonometric/scientific functions. (The reason these are only 3 digits is because multiplication and division would take a long time to decode/complete/encode. Also, the fraction display is hard enough to build for 3 digits, let alone 6 – 6 digit RAM would not only be massive, but a bit pointless since the curves follow the same pattern surrounding the peaks.). Graphing y=mx+c functions, quadratic functions, and equation solving of the form mx+c=0. The screen and keypad were always meant to be the main feature of this machine. The main display boasts 25 digits. Square root signs are displayed and can change to accommodate any number of digits. Square root signs, add, minus, multiply and divide signs are displayed at appropriate times, and there is a full fraction display. The 7-segments for the fractions are the smallest possible, being only 3 wide, and stackable vertically and horizontally. I made a custom texture pack for the keypad, and made wooden pressure plates invisible in order to get the best effect. The calculator itself is just over 250x200x100 blocks. It contains 2 6-digit BCD number selectors, 2 BCD-to-binary decoders, 3 binary-to-BCD decoders, 6 BCD adders and subtractors, a 20 bit (output) multiplier, 10 bit divider, a memory bank and additional circuitry for the graphing function. I want to create a music software that visually displays the sound of music like Propellerheads Reason, FL Studio (fruityloops), and many more. I am wondering:

-how should I get started?
-What program do I use to write visualizers?
-what code language should I use to develop the software?
-how do i make the visuals of my software match the rhythm of a song?
-How to create the graphics and the algorithm’s for various instruments (virtual)?
-What is this best school or training program in the US?

If you can help me out in this matter that would be greatly appreciated.

Excuse my English its a second language and I do my best, my errors are unintentional if offended.

There is no off the shelf package that has the ‘engine’ already laid out. It would be done in C++ and would be a LOT of code. Why don’t you start with something a bit simpler like writing some code for VST ‘plug -ins’ or Direct X ‘plug-ins?
These are a seperate program people buy for their recording/ writing software (cubase, sonar, digidesign pro tools, etc…) and they provide functions that are basically the same as a ‘rack mounted’ piece of hardware in a studio, Ex: Reverb or Delay, Chorus, Pre-Amp, Processors these are used AFTER the recording has been done to ‘polish’ vocals, guitars, drums etc… and make them sound professional, not like a home recording. It used to be there was only the hardware (rack) gear. Now people are using ‘duplicates/clones’ of the former hardware they used but as a software ‘plug in’. If you want to write a LOT less code, and have a chance of making a LOT of money selling them, write code for VST plug ins, Direct X p.ins. or TDM based p. ins. The key here is how good the plug in works, and believe me when I tell you there is a LOT of money being made and a lot of competition.

None of my earned punishments as a child were stupid and there was never a stupid reason for them. I did something I was not supposed to, I received my punishment, and I moved on with my life. I never felt any of it was stupid. My parents disciplined me and I thank them for that. It has been a positive in my life even if I didn’t like it at the time. It has taught me to show respect and to behaved correctly and has benefited me as an adult.

it really depends on you… as with any program you get out what you put in it..When Im learning a new program I watch videos on you tube.
