Question by S: How Do I sync Pro tools (fast track) with my Reason song?
Just bought an M-Audio fast track. I import my beat from Reason into Pro tools, adjust the tempo to match the BPM, record my guitar, it all sounds fine in Pro tools, I then remove the beat (drums), and bounce the guitar to disk.
Here is the problem. After I have loaded the guitar parts onto my Reason song, the sync starts ok, but gradually starts to slip, until it is about half a beat off. Needless to say, this is not helpful. I was wondering if it is a clock error, If its quantitizing strangely. I just need to fix it. Anyone with any info on this subject, please let me know.
Once again, timing is off when bounced from Pro tools back to reason.
Also I am familiar with Record, but want to expand my knowledge base.
I have an Acer i5 quad core laptop,
4gb RAM
640 Gb’s HD
M-Audio Fast Track (with pro tools)
Propellerheads Reaon 5

So are you talking about Guitar created in Reason? Or guitar straight into Pro Tools?
Also are you using Re-Wire through Pro Tools to interact with Reason?
Because if you are not, that would definitely make things a lot more efficient.
Re-Wire is a plug-in that comes with Pro Tools.
Sorry this is not a question that can be easily solved. Feel free to email me if you can’t get it figured out. I use Reason 4 with Tracktion. But I’ve ran it through Cubase and Pro Tools. And I haven’t had any sync problems when using Re-Wire.
