Hard Rock, Guitar-Based Song- Made in Propellerhead Record/Reason using an Apogee Duet

Monday, June 13th, 2011

This is the first song I have made in Propellerhead’s new program, Record. I recorded the guitars using an Apogee Duet interface. Some of Propellerhead’s Reason 4 Library is also featured in the song–but Reason and Record work together in harmony. Enjoy. -Ampd This audio recording is sole property of The Ampd Music Group. For the Propellerhead Reason program, is using a cheap MIDI keyboard just as good as an expensive one?

Friday, October 22nd, 2010

Question by snrxorx: For the Propellerhead Reason program, is using a cheap MIDI keyboard just as good as an expensive one?
Is the cheapest possible MIDI keyboard really the same thing as using an expensive one for this program?

Any suggestions on which MIDI keyboard to buy?

Is there any way to use the computer keyboard that I’m typing on in place of a MIDI music keyboard?

It really depends on if you are a good player or if you will just be using it to avoid programming with the mouse?

Personally I use a Studio Logic fully weighted 88 key keyboard, but that’s because I like the feel of a piano weighted keyboard. But if you aren’t actually a keyboard player it wont make a huge difference to you. For use with reason the Novation Remote SL Series are ideal for reason as the controller knobs all work seamless ly with reason and event he readouts change display what they are controlling.
